That groovy big headstock with the "synchronized tremolo" decal. Just like the Woodstock Strat this is the last of the cloth wired instruments. Frets look to be original but there has probably been a perfect refret. This is a PLAYER, perfect intonation, bend forever over the gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Play all night as this feather weight 7.1 pound guitar floats on you! Not a broken solder joint or single swapped out part. Perfect for the player, collector or investor. Do it in style baby. All 3 pots are dated 18th week of 1966 (250K AUD 1376618), pickups have a 1969 date code ink stamp "1149" and the neck is dated "22 MAR 69B" Serial number is in the 220K range. Original 3 way switch. This is the last of the cloth wired and fully thick aluminum shielded preCBS spec strats. Later in 1969 wire went to vinyl and the shielding was reduced to a small patch of aluminum foil. The front and back of the instrument are relatively clean but the edges have dings, gashes and wear. Plastic has deeply yellowed consistent with this being a smokey bar blues machine.
