See contact info belowUp for auction is a 1982 Gibson Custom Shop Korina Explorer Pre-Production Prototype. This guitar does not carry a serial number, pre-production prototypes do not have serial numbers. I do however have a letter on Gibson letterhead from Tim Shaw of Gibson R&D, dated March 7, 1986, that states this guitar is a pre-production prototype made in Nashville, as no mid 80's Explorer Korina samples were made in Kalamazoo. This guitar has both the prototype stamp and the Custom Shop gold logo, and Made in The USA stamp on the back of the headstock. The plastic sheeting is still covering the pickguard and the back plate. The guitar is in 9.8/9 condition. The gold plating on bridge has some minor pitting, and there is a small piece of finish off of the bass side bottom corner the size two pin heads, very very small. Minor scratches on the backside only visible when held up to light, not deep at all, could possibly be buffed out. Guitar comes with a fitted red fuzz lined, black Gibson case, the original handle is intact! The guitar also comes with the letter from Gibson, a warranty card that has NOT yet been filled in, and the strings that are on it. While there is another Explorer Korina for sale here on eBay, it is not a pre-production prototype that has a "prototype" stamp,  and does not come with a letter from Gibson like mine does. My Explorer is much more collectible, and more reasonably and realistically priced. I will not take the guitar apart, as the screws have never been removed, and I don't plan on touching them, so please don't ask. There are no breaks or cracks, in or on this guitar!
